Pokok herba ini berasal daripada Mexico. Tinggi pokoknya boleh sampai kira-kira 50 cm. Permukaan bahagian atas daun berwarna hijau dan bahagian bawah daun berwarna ungu. Daunnya lurus dan panjang daun kira-kira 30 cm. Daun dan bunganya ada nilai perubatan.

This plant is originally from Mexico. The plant can grow to 50 cm. high. The top surface of the leaf is green and the bottom surface is purple. The leaves are linear and can measure up to about 30 cm. The leaves and flowers has medical value.

The Thai use the fresh leaves for threatment of sore throat, cough, relieves thurst, and externally used as an anti inflammatory. The Chinese use the fresh flowers and flower bracs by boiling it as a soup (usually with pork), for reducing body heatiness, relief of sore throat, and heat cough.
