Klintiendharm English School

The Klintiendharm English School

The school, which is located at 78-80 Soi Central Park, Kanchanavanich Road, Hatyai, Songkhla 90110, has been established for the sole purpose of teaching English as a second language. It welcomes students both from the clergy (Buddhist Sangha) and the laity.

The purpose of the English language course is to enable the students to eventually pursue their tertiary education in any recognized university. The ultimate vision of the Klintiendharm School is to elevate itself to the level of an international seat of Buddhist learning having university status.

The intended Buddhist University will be a truly international institute of higher learning offering quality Buddhist studies in a modern, scholarly, non-sectarian and spiritually dedicated community.

It is intended to combine the rigors of academic scholarship with a healthy appreciation of the richness and diversity of Buddhist traditions throughout history and the world. As such, when fully established it will consist of three main colleges offering certificate, diploma and degree courses in Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhist studies.

The duration of the English course is one year. The subjects taught will include basic English grammar, conversation, comprehension and writing. As far as possible the course will use Buddhist texts and material.

The Klintiendharm English School invites applications from those who are interested in the course. The minimum qualification will be High School Diploma or an equivalent educational attainment.

Members of the Buddhist Sangha will be accommodated at Wat Klong Ple. This temple is situated within walking distance to the Klintiendharm School. Buddhist nuns and lay students will be accommodated at the hostels located within the school premises.

Buddhist monks and nuns may apply for scholarships. A scholarship will include free tuition, library and computer facilities.

Applications should be made on the prescribed forms and sent together with copies of acceptable certificates and transcripts, to the address below:
